Sunday Youth Club

Juniors are well catered for at Otley Sailing Club. Youth club runs every Sunday morning from April to October.  These fun based sessions give young people an opportunity to try sailing and have fun at the same time.  Juniors can progress and achieve recognised RYA qualifications. Supervision is provided by club members who have the necessary RYA qualifications.

Full safety cover is provided by club volunteers with the necessary RYA approved power boat qualifications in the club's safety boats. Youth club participants use the club's Laser Pico sailing dinghies, Toppers or larger double handed Hartley's and Comet Trios.

Depending on the conditions, sessions often end in a race or a fun swimming session.  But they always finish with the option of a bacon butty!

Youth club starts at 9:30am and finishes at 12:00pm.  However, please be down at the club house by 9:00am so you have time to sign-in and get kitted-up so you will be ready on 'the white line' for the briefing at 9:30am.  Please note that parents/carers must remain at the club for the duration of the youth club.  If your child has their own buoyancy aid please bring this along.  If not, we are happy to lend you one free of charge.  Also, wet suits are strongly recommended, especially in spring and autumn. Unfortunately the club does not have any wet suits available for loan.  Sailing boots or neoprene beach shoes need to be worn (or trainers that you don't mind getting wet).  Crocs or similar are not suitable as they tend to be too slippy and fall off the kids feet too easily.

Youth club is free to club members.  For non-members there is a charge £12 per session.
