Bart's Bash 2020!

Race starts at 2pm. Let's aim to get as many boats as possible out on the lake, especially as this is one of the only events we've been able to run in 2020! As this is a racing event we can have up to 20 boats on the water. Double handers can have crews from different households. There are a number of trophies up for grabs today:

* Shipley Salver Trophy (overall winner)

* Ladies Trophy (top placed female sailor)

* Ladies Crew Trophy (top placed female crew sailor)

* Junior Helm Trophy (top placed junior helm sailor)

* Wrigglesworth Junior Trophy (second placed junior helm sailor)

* Junior Crew Trophy (top placed junior crew sailor)

Bart's Bash racing will start at 2pm Sunday 13th September. Please remember that you need to register on the Barts Bash website by clicking here. There will be a voluntary £5 entry for the race - all proceeds will go to the Bart's foundation.

Bart’s Bash is a global sailing race taking place at hundreds of venues, with thousands of sailors in hundreds of different classes of boat around the world. This incredible event works on the assumption that sailing venues host their races at weekends and we invite them to unite in one colossal global sailing event. Put simply it’s the day the world goes sailing!

It's a day the sailing community remembers Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life whilst training for the America's cup in 2013. Bart’s Bash is an annual fundraising and participation campaign promoted by the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation (ASSF). Each individual event is organised by a venue which is the organising authority for all activities at their site.
